The Spark That Started It All
My journey into holistic living began because of my son.
When he was still young, he started questioning things I had never fully questioned before — ingredients, food quality, environmental toxins, household products, and the ways modern life can quietly affect our health and well-being.
At first, I was simply listening. Then I started researching. Then I started questioning everything I thought I knew.
His awareness opened a door I never closed.
What began as curiosity slowly became a way of life. I read, researched, experimented, learned from traditional practices, changed the way our family ate, changed what we brought into our home, and began looking at wellness through a much wider lens.
Because of him, I began to understand that true wellness is not just about one product, one habit, or one symptom. It is about the whole person — body, mind, environment, daily rhythm, nourishment, and the small choices we repeat over time.
That path eventually shaped me into the holistic practitioner I am today.
Coastal Root Co. exists because that seed was planted years ago by someone I love deeply — a young person wise enough to question the world around him and brave enough to make me question it too.

For sixteen years, he has been part of our family’s everyday rhythm — beach walks, boat rides, quiet mornings, muddy paws, slow afternoons, and the kind of unconditional companionship that changes you.
As he grew older, his needs changed. So did the way we cared for him.
We paid closer attention to the small things: comfort, routine, food, ingredients, environment, clean bedding, gentle grooming, time outside, patience, and love.
Caring for Briar reinforced something we already believed: the small choices we repeat every day truly matter.
That same belief shaped Coastal Root.
