Terms of Service
Overview
Welcome to Coastal Root Co.
The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Coastal Root Co. Coastal Root Co. operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products, and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience. These are referred to in these Terms of Service as the “Services.”
Coastal Root Co. is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.
These Terms of Service, together with any policies referenced herein, describe your rights and responsibilities when you use our Services.
Please read these Terms of Service carefully, as they include important information about your legal rights and cover areas such as product use, warranty disclaimers, limitations of liability, returns, shipping, and dispute terms.
By visiting, interacting with, purchasing from, or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, you should not access or use our Services.
Section 1 — Access and Account
By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state, province, or jurisdiction of residence.
To use the Services, including browsing our online store or purchasing any products or services we offer, you may be asked to provide certain information, such as your name, email address, billing information, payment information, shipping address, and account details.
You represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete, and that you have all rights necessary to provide this information.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not transfer, sell, assign, or license your account to any other person.
We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, cancel orders, or restrict access to the Services at our sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Section 2 — Our Products
We make every reasonable effort to provide accurate product descriptions, images, ingredients, directions, warnings, pricing, and availability information. However, we do not guarantee that product descriptions, colors, images, ingredients, pricing, availability, or other content on the Services will always be complete, accurate, current, or error-free.
Product appearance may vary from images shown online due to lighting, screen settings, natural ingredient variations, batch differences, and the nature of small-batch production.
Because many Coastal Root Co. products are made with natural ingredients and/or small-batch methods, slight variations in color, scent, texture, consistency, or appearance may occur. These natural variations do not affect product quality and are not considered defects.
All product descriptions, ingredients, formulas, packaging, sizes, scents, availability, pricing, and product offerings are subject to change at any time without notice at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time.
We may limit the quantities of any products or services that we offer to any person, household, geographic region, or jurisdiction on a case-by-case basis.
Section 3 — Health, Wellness, Pet Care, and Product Information
Information provided on our website, product pages, labels, blog posts, ingredient library, emails, social media, packaging, or other materials is for general informational and educational purposes only.
Nothing on our Services is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or mitigate any disease, illness, injury, skin condition, pet condition, or health condition. Information provided by Coastal Root Co. should not be considered medical, veterinary, nutritional, therapeutic, or professional advice.
Products should be used only as directed. Customers are responsible for reviewing all product descriptions, ingredients, directions, warnings, and usage instructions before purchasing or using any product.
Consult a qualified healthcare provider, veterinarian, or other appropriate professional before using any product if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, managing a medical condition, purchasing for a child, using products on pets, or using products on individuals or animals with known allergies, sensitivities, or health concerns.
Individual results may vary. Coastal Root Co. does not guarantee any specific result from the use of any product.
By purchasing wellness, tincture, mineral, ingestible, body care, pet care, cleaning, or other products, you acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for determining whether a product is appropriate for your own use, your household, your pets, and your individual circumstances.
Section 4 — Allergies, Sensitivities, and Proper Use
Customers are responsible for reviewing ingredient lists and determining whether a product is appropriate for their allergies, sensitivities, medical circumstances, household, children, pets, surfaces, fabrics, or intended use.
Always perform a patch test where appropriate. Discontinue use immediately if irritation, sensitivity, or an adverse reaction occurs.
Coastal Root Co. is not responsible for misuse, improper application, failure to follow directions, improper storage, use on unsuitable surfaces or materials, allergic reactions, sensitivities, adverse reactions, or unintended results, except where required by law.
Products should be kept out of reach of children and pets unless expressly stated otherwise. Pet products are intended only for the animals specifically identified in the product description or directions.
Do not use any product in a manner inconsistent with its directions, warnings, or intended use.
Section 5 — Orders
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. Coastal Root Co. reserves the right to accept, decline, limit, or cancel your order for any reason at our discretion.
Your order is not accepted until we confirm acceptance and process payment. We must receive and process your payment before your order is accepted.
Please review your order carefully before submitting it. We may be unable to accommodate cancellation or change requests after an order has been accepted, processed, packed, or shipped.
If we do not accept, make a change to, or cancel an order, we will attempt to notify you using the email address, billing address, shipping address, or phone number provided at the time the order was placed.
Your purchases are subject to return or exchange solely in accordance with our Refund & Return Policy.
You represent and warrant that your purchases are for your own personal or household use and not for unauthorized commercial resale, export, redistribution, or unlawful use.
Section 6 — Prices and Billing
Prices, discounts, product availability, and promotions are subject to change without notice.
The price charged for a product or service will be the price in effect at the time the order is placed and will be set out in your order confirmation email, unless an error, inaccuracy, or omission has occurred.
Unless otherwise expressly stated, posted prices do not include taxes, shipping, handling, customs, duties, import fees, or other charges that may apply.
Prices posted in our online store may differ from prices offered in person, at events, in physical retail locations, or through third-party sellers.
We may offer promotions from time to time that are governed by separate terms and conditions. If there is a conflict between the terms of a promotion and these Terms of Service, the promotion terms will govern.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase, payment, billing, shipping, and account information for all purchases made through our Services. You agree to promptly update your information so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.
You represent and warrant that:
You are authorized to use the payment method provided.
The payment information you provide is true, correct, and complete.
Charges incurred by you will be honored by your payment provider.
You will pay all charges incurred at the posted prices, including shipping, handling, taxes, and applicable fees.
Section 7 — Shipping and Delivery
We make reasonable efforts to ship orders within the timeframe stated at checkout, in the applicable product listing, or in your order confirmation.
Delivery dates and transit times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs processing, weather, incorrect addresses, order volume, supply delays, or events outside our control.
If we are unable to ship your order within the stated timeframe, we will contact you as required by applicable law.
Once an order is transferred to the shipping carrier, the carrier is responsible for delivery. Coastal Root Co. is not responsible for carrier delays, tracking errors, theft, misdelivery, or packages marked as delivered by the carrier.
Please ensure your shipping address is accurate before placing your order. Coastal Root Co. is not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer.
If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, failed delivery attempt, refusal, or failure to pick up the package, the customer may be responsible for additional shipping costs to resend the order.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.
Section 8 — Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges
Returns, refunds, exchanges, damaged items, missing items, and order issues are governed solely by our Refund & Return Policy.
Because many of our products are personal care, wellness, pet care, cleaning, food-based, consumable, or hygiene-related items, opened, used, altered, or tampered-with products are not eligible for return or refund unless required by law.
Please inspect your order promptly upon delivery and contact us within the timeframe stated in our Refund & Return Policy if your item arrives damaged, defective, leaking, or incorrect.
Items sent back to Coastal Root Co. without prior approval will not be accepted or refunded.
Section 9 — Intellectual Property
Our Services, including but not limited to all trademarks, brand names, text, product names, product descriptions, images, graphics, photographs, videos, audio, logos, designs, layouts, icons, product reviews, features, tools, and the selection and arrangement thereof, are owned by Coastal Root Co., its affiliates, or licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms permit you to use the Services for personal, non-commercial use only.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, copy, scrape, extract, sell, resell, or transmit any material from the Services without our prior written consent.
Nothing in these Terms grants or shall be construed as granting any license or right to use any patent, trademark, copyright, trade dress, trade secret, or other intellectual property of Coastal Root Co., Shopify, or any third party.
Coastal Root Co.’s name, logos, product names, service names, designs, slogans, images, and brand elements are trademarks or property of Coastal Root Co. or its affiliates or licensors. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
Shopify’s name, logo, product names, service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Shopify. All other names, logos, product names, service names, designs, and slogans appearing through the Services are the property of their respective owners.
Section 10 — Optional Tools
We may provide access to customer tools offered by third parties as part of the Services. We do not monitor, control, or have input over these third-party tools.
You acknowledge and agree that we provide access to such tools “as is” and “as available” without warranties, representations, conditions, or endorsement of any kind.
Your use of optional third-party tools is entirely at your own risk and discretion. You should review and approve the terms of any third-party provider before using such tools.
We shall have no liability arising from or related to your use of optional third-party tools.
We may, in the future, offer new features, tools, resources, or functionality through the Services. Such features shall also be deemed part of the Services and subject to these Terms of Service.
Section 11 — Third-Party Links
The Services may contain materials, hyperlinks, embedded features, or functionality provided or operated by third parties.
We are not responsible for examining or evaluating the content, policies, practices, accuracy, products, or services of any third-party websites or providers. If you decide to access third-party materials or websites, you do so at your own risk.
We are not liable for any harm, damages, losses, or issues related to your access to third-party websites or your purchase or use of third-party products, services, resources, or content.
Please review third-party policies and practices carefully before engaging in any transaction. Complaints, claims, concerns, or questions regarding third-party products or services should be directed to the third party.
Section 12 — Relationship with Shopify
Coastal Root Co. is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.
However, any sales and purchases you make in our store are made directly with Coastal Root Co.
By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sales between you and Coastal Root Co., including any injury, damage, loss, claim, liability, or dispute resulting from purchased products or services.
You expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases, transactions, or interactions with Coastal Root Co.
Section 13 — Privacy Policy
All personal information we collect through the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy. Certain personal information may also be subject to Shopify’s Privacy Policy.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the applicable privacy policies.
Because the Services are hosted by Shopify, Shopify may collect and process personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve the Services. Information you submit to the Services may be transmitted to and shared with Shopify and other third-party service providers, including providers located in countries other than where you reside.
Please review our Privacy Policy for more details on how we, Shopify, and our service providers collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information.
Section 14 — Feedback, Reviews, and User Content
If you submit, upload, post, email, tag, share, or otherwise transmit any ideas, suggestions, feedback, reviews, photographs, videos, testimonials, proposals, plans, comments, or other content, collectively referred to as “Feedback,” you grant Coastal Root Co. a perpetual, worldwide, sublicensable, transferable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, display, create derivative works from, and otherwise use such Feedback in any medium for any lawful purpose, including marketing, advertising, product development, and commercial use.
You represent and warrant that:
You own or have all necessary rights to submit the Feedback.
Your Feedback does not violate the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or personal rights.
Your Feedback is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
You have disclosed any compensation, incentives, free products, discounts, or other benefits received in connection with the Feedback.
Your Feedback does not contain unlawful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, misleading, harmful, or malicious content.
Your Feedback does not contain any virus, malware, or harmful code.
We are under no obligation to maintain Feedback in confidence, pay compensation for Feedback, respond to Feedback, or use Feedback.
We may monitor, edit, remove, or refuse to post Feedback at our sole discretion.
You are solely responsible for any Feedback you submit and its accuracy. We take no responsibility and assume no liability for Feedback posted by you or any third party.
Section 15 — Errors, Inaccuracies, and Omissions
Occasionally there may be information on or through the Services that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions, including but not limited to errors related to product descriptions, ingredients, pricing, promotions, offers, shipping charges, transit times, availability, images, or product information.
We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and to change, update, or cancel orders if any information is inaccurate at any time without prior notice, including after you have submitted your order.
We are not obligated to update, amend, or clarify information on the Services except as required by law.
Section 16 — Prohibited Uses
You may access and use the Services for lawful purposes only.
You may not access or use the Services, directly or indirectly:
For any unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, abusive, or malicious purpose.
To violate any international, federal, state, provincial, territorial, or local law, rule, regulation, or ordinance.

To submit false, inaccurate, or misleading information.
To upload, transmit, or distribute viruses, malware, or harmful code.

To bypass, disable, or circumvent security features, authorization measures, robot exclusion headers, CAPTCHAs, access restrictions, or other measures we use to protect the Services.
We reserve the right to suspend, disable, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services at any time, without notice, if we determine that you have violated any part of these Terms.
Section 17 — Agents and Automated Access
This section applies if you use, allow, enable, or cause the deployment of any software, service, bot, crawler, scraper, artificial intelligence tool, automated system, or agent to access, use, or interact with the Services.
An “Agent” means any software or service that takes autonomous or semi-autonomous action on behalf of, or at the instruction of, any person or entity and that can be executed without direct human supervision.
No Agent may access, use, or interact with the Services unless it clearly identifies itself and operates in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
We may restrict, limit, block, or otherwise control whether and how any Agent accesses, uses, or interacts with the Services.
Agents must:
Clearly identify that the request is from an Agent.
Not conceal, misrepresent, or obfuscate that interactions are from an Agent.
Not mimic human behavior in a deceptive manner.
Not complete or circumvent CAPTCHAs or other measures intended to distinguish human use from automated use.
Respond truthfully to any question or prompt seeking to determine whether interactions are coming from a human or automated system.
Not bypass, avoid, or interfere with any measure intended to block, limit, modify, or control automated access.
We reserve the right to prohibit any Agent from accessing or interacting with the Services at any time.
Section 18 — Termination
We may terminate this agreement or your access to the Services, or any part of the Services, at our sole discretion at any time without notice, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
You will remain liable for all amounts due up to and including the date of termination.
The following sections will survive termination: Intellectual Property, Feedback, Reviews, and User Content, Termination, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Severability, Waiver, Entire Agreement, Assignment, Governing Law, Privacy Policy, and any other provisions that by their nature should survive termination.
Section 19 — Disclaimer of Warranties
The information presented on or through the Services is made available for general informational purposes only. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, or usefulness of this information.
Any reliance you place on such information is strictly at your own risk.
Except as expressly stated by Coastal Root Co., the Services and all products offered through the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without representations, warranties, or conditions of any kind, either express or implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coastal Root Co. disclaims all warranties and conditions, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not guarantee, represent, or warrant that:
Your use of the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
The Services will be free of viruses or harmful components.
The results obtained from using the Services or any product will meet your expectations.
Any product will be suitable for your individual circumstances, household, pets, allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, surfaces, fabrics, or intended use.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the disclaimer of certain warranties, so some of the above disclaimers may not apply to you.
Section 20 — Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no case shall Coastal Root Co., our owners, partners, directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, service providers, licensors, suppliers, Shopify, or Shopify’s affiliates be liable for any injury, loss, claim, damage, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, exemplary, or consequential damages of any kind.
This includes, without limitation, lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, business interruption, personal injury, property damage, product misuse, allergic reactions, sensitivities, adverse reactions, or similar damages, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise.
This limitation applies to any claim arising from or related to:
Your use of the Services.
Your inability to use the Services.
Any products purchased or obtained through the Services.
Any product use, misuse, or failure to follow directions.
Any errors or omissions in content.
Any loss or damage incurred as a result of content or products made available through the Services.
Any third-party links, tools, carriers, payment processors, or service providers.
Even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, some limitations may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Section 21 — Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Coastal Root Co., Shopify, and our affiliates, owners, partners, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, licensors, suppliers, and service providers from and against any losses, damages, liabilities, claims, demands, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to:
Your breach of these Terms of Service or any policies incorporated by reference.
Your violation of any law, rule, regulation, or third-party right.
Your access to or use of the Services.
Your misuse of any product.
Your failure to follow product directions, warnings, or instructions.
Your submission of Feedback or user content.
Your negligence, misconduct, or violation of another person’s rights.
We will notify you of any indemnifiable claim, provided that failure to promptly notify you will not relieve you of your obligations unless you are materially prejudiced.
We may control the defense and settlement of any claim at your expense, including choice of counsel. We will not settle any claim requiring non-monetary obligations from you without your consent, which may not be unreasonably withheld.
You agree to cooperate in the defense of indemnified claims, including by providing relevant documents and information.
Section 22 — Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Service is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
The unenforceable portion shall be deemed severed from these Terms of Service, and such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
Section 23 — Waiver and Entire Agreement
Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
These Terms of Service, together with any policies or operating rules posted by us on the Services, constitute the entire agreement and understanding between you and Coastal Root Co. and govern your use of the Services.
These Terms supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, proposals, or understandings, whether oral or written, between you and Coastal Root Co.
Any ambiguities in the interpretation of these Terms shall not be construed against the drafting party.
Section 24 — Assignment
You may not delegate, transfer, or assign these Terms of Service or any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Any attempted assignment without consent will be null and void.
We may transfer, assign, or delegate these Terms and our rights and obligations without consent or notice to you, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Section 25 — Governing Law
These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State/Commonwealth of [INSERT STATE], without regard to conflict of law principles.
You and Coastal Root Co. consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in [INSERT STATE] for any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms, the Services, or any purchase from Coastal Root Co., except where otherwise required by applicable law.
Section 26 — European Union Customers
If merchandise is shipped into the European Union, customers may have a 14-day right of withdrawal for certain online purchases. However, this right may not apply to sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once opened, or to certain perishable, custom, or consumable goods. EU consumer rules generally provide a 14-day cooling-off period for many online purchases, subject to certain exceptions.
Where applicable, EU customers must return eligible items in unused, unopened, original condition, with proof of purchase, and in accordance with our Refund & Return Policy.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Section 27 — Headings
The headings used in these Terms are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.
Section 28 — Changes to Terms of Service
You can review the most current version of these Terms of Service at any time on this page.
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms by posting updates and changes to our website.
It is your responsibility to check our website periodically for changes.
We will notify you of material changes to these Terms where required by applicable law. Your continued use of or access to the Services following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
